Magazine Beach Park Eco-Volunteers — Policy & Advocacy for Green Legislation

Get Connected Icon Happens On Aug 16, 2026
Get Connected Icon 10am - 12pm

Description

Engage in advocacy and community education to advance local green policies that protect Magazine Beach Park and surrounding urban ecosystems. Volunteers will learn how to translate on-the-ground restoration findings into policy recommendations, participate in meetings with local officials, and support campaigns for sustainable park management and conservation funding. This program empowers neighbors to shape resilient, biodiversity-friendly legislation.

We will start with a whole group introduction followed by separating into different groups based off the project each volunteer is interested in. The whole group will gather at the Nature Center for the final 20 minutes to reflect on the work, share observations, and enjoy snacks. More information about the projects and recommended items to bring will be shared with registered volunteers during the week prior to the event.
