Get Connected Icon 10am - 12pm

Description

Participate in ecological monitoring and BioBlitz events using iNaturalist to document the park’s plant and animal species. Volunteers will learn species ID techniques, how to record observations and upload photos, and how to contribute data to regional and global biodiversity databases. This program trains participants to use citizen-science tools to track seasonal changes and support long-term conservation planning.

We will start with a whole group introduction followed by separating into different groups based off the project each volunteer is interested in. The whole group will gather at the Nature Center for the final 20 minutes to reflect on the work, share observations, and enjoy snacks. More information about the projects and recommended items to bring will be shared with registered volunteers during the week prior to the event.
