Front Desk Volunteers greet visitors to Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and create a strong first impression of Mass Audubon. They warmly welcome visitors, provide excellent customer service, answer questions and ensure an overall positive, inclusive, and enjoyable experience. Volunteers also support selling memberships and promoting additional ways to get involved in the sanctuary and with Mass Audubon.
- Welcome visitors and collect admission fees.
- Provide information about the sanctuary, trails, programs, events, the surrounding area, and Mass Audubon in general.
- Check membership status and record visitation.
- Promote and process memberships.
- Process gift shop sales using our POS system.
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills, personable and communicative.
- Enjoy interacting with the public in a welcoming and inclusive manner.
- Busy shifts can require prolonged periods of standing.
- Able to work cooperatively and independently as part of our Visitor Experiences Team.
Requirements:
- Commitment of one shift per week.
- Friendly and respectful towards all visitors, volunteers, and staff.
- Reliably respond to email communications with staff.
- Ability to pass CORI/SORI background check.
- Must adhere to all policies in the Mass Audubon Volunteer Safety Handbook.
- Must be 18+.
