Front Desk Volunteer

Front Desk Volunteers play an important role in welcoming visitors to Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. As part of our Visitor Experiences Team, you will be the face of the sanctuary for newly arriving visitors. Front Desk Volunteers warmly welcome our visitors, provide excellent customer service, answer questions about the sanctuary and ensure an overall positive, enriching and enjoyable experience. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet people and share interests in nature. Our Front Desk Volunteers typically work one shift per week. 

Responsibilities:

·         Welcome visitors and collect admission fees.

·         Describe sanctuary trails and facilities.

·         Promote and process memberships.

·         Handle gift shop sales using our POS system.

·         Answer questions.

Qualifications:

·         Dependable.

·         Excellent people skills, personable and communicative, ability to respond to a variety of visitors' needs and questions in a welcoming and inclusive manner.

·         Excellent verbal communication skills.

·         Busy shifts can require prolonged periods of standing.

·         Able to work cooperatively and independently as part of our Visitor Experiences Team.

Requirements:

·         Ability to pass CORI/SORI background check.

·         Must adhere to all policies in the Mass Audubon Volunteer Safety Handbook.

·         Must be 18+.
