Wildlife Care Diet Preparations - Wednesday afternoons

Calendar Until Dec 12, 2026

Description

To express interest in and apply for this volunteer position, please email Pam at psowizral@massaudubon.org. In your email, please share why you are interested in the position and your availability.

Assist our staff with the care of a variety of birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles including hawks, owls, vultures, songbirds, foxes, opossum, groundhogs, skunk, and more. These animals are injured and unable to live on their own. At Drumlin Farm they act as Animal Ambassadors, providing educational programs for families and children.

This position entails food preparation. Following a "menu" for each animal the volunteer weighs and chops fruits, vegetables, and sources of protein and places into each animal's labeled container. The task takes place in our Wildlife Care facility where you will be among staff, other like-minded volunteers, and the animals! Each session takes two to three hours. Standing while working is required.

We are looking for a minimum of a three-month commitment of one Wednesday afternoon per week. We hope you will stay longer! This position requires an interview, training, and a background check.
