Join Mass Audubon staff for a Wildflower Seed Collection volunteer opportunity at Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary. Native wildflowers play a vital role in supporting pollinator species, biodiversity and overall ecosystem health. Participants will join Mass Audubon staff in collecting native seed to be used for habitat restoration at Allens Pond. Last season we collected over 30 different plant species and we are hoping to increase those numbers with your help - no prior experience necessary! This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity; any volunteer under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian for the duration of the event.
We will be meeting at our Allens Neck Road trailhead where we will walk ~1 mile to our grasslands. Please bring a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes and wearing weather appropriate attire to be outside for the full event. There are no restrooms at this location. This is event will be weather dependent.
This program is made possible through funding by grant 43-00A01143 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Southeast New England Program.
