Habitat Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary

Who We Are

Gentle trails wind through deciduous and evergreen forests, across meadows, and around ponds and vernal pools at Habitat, located just seven miles from downtown Boston. A long-standing center for environmental education, Habitat offers year-round programs for all ages.

What We Do

Habitat offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for people of all interests and experience levels. Whether you have a lifetime interest in nature or are just getting started, we've got a place for you. Register as an individual or family group for the drop-in volunteer opportunities we have posted on the volunteer portal (scroll down to "Place Opportunities" to see them) or view and fill out this form that includes information about our longer-term volunteer opportunities. If you have any questions, please email habitat@massaudubon.org.

Are you a school group, corporate group, club group, or other large group looking to volunteer? We are capable of accommodating groups of volunteers usually limited to 15 people at a time but open to discussion! Typical projects are invasive plant removal, trail maintenance, and gardening. Please reach out to volunteer coordinator Pamela Sowizral at psowizral@massaudubon.org with information about the size of your group, dates you are looking to volunteer, and the type of opportunity you're interested in.
