Wildlife Information Line Volunteers work with Mass Audubon’s Conservation Division Operations Manager and the Conservation Science team to respond to inquiries from the general public regarding animal husbandry, general naturalist questions, and act as a resource for directing people who encounter injured wildlife. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in representing Mass Audubon and sharing our collective expertise as a leader in conserving Massachusetts’ wildlife and wild places. Responsibilities Monitor the Wildlife Info Line email inbox Answer all incoming email messages Return any messages requiring a return phone call Communicate and collaborate with Conservation Division Operations Manager, Conservation Science team, and other Mass Audubon departments / staff, as needed, to obtain the information required to respond accurately to all inquiries Training will be provided. Qualifications A love of wildlife and a desire to learn more about the natural world Knowledge of the natural history / wildlife of Massachusetts, biology, ecology, zoology, or other natural science preferred, but not required Comfort with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and a willingness to learn new data skills Adult aged 18 or older Successful completion of a CORI/SORI background check Schedule/Shift Information Volunteers are asked to contribute a minimum of 2 hours per week with a minimum commitment of 1 year Volunteers are responsible for logging their own hours after each volunteer shift in the online Volunteer Portal.
