Opportunities From: Mass Audubon

Drop in on the first Saturday of the month, help care for the sanctuary and enjoy a few hours of fresh air, fun and fulfillment.  Walk the trails, put up signs and markers, look for wildlife tracks, pick up branches, and fill the bird feeders. Ability to work without supervision required. 

Take action in your local community to protect and steward the land that supports us by participating in this annual stream cleanup.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Regional Environmental Council's Earth Day Cleanups.

Participants will be walking in or alongside the stream therefore should wear high waterproof boots or waders if they have them. 

How to Register
To sign up to volunteer, click the "Respond" button. You can then sign in using your existing volunteer account with Mass Audubon, or, if this is your first time volunteering using the volunteer system, you will be prompted to create a new account before signing up. Make sure to click the Submit Opportunity Response button on the next page and look for the green banner - and an email - indicating you have completed the whole process.

Families or small groups can sign up by clicking "Respond as Group." Only one person in the group will need to create a volunteer account: you will then create a name for the group, click the "Add Me" button to add yourself to the group, and use the "Add Volunteer" button to enter the first and last names of each additional group member. Finally, designate yourself as the group leader (look for the checkbox) and click Finish. Look for the green banner - and an email - indicating you have finished the whole process.

Celebrate Earth Month with a day of service at Broad Meadow Brook!

Spend your morning helping to remove Garlic Mustard, a fast-growing invasive plant, as part of Mass Audubon’s Statewide Volunteer Day. We will be pulling and removing the garlic mustard by hand and bagging it for disposal. Volunteers will spread out along the All Persons Trail and Frog Pond trail, a maximum distance of 0.5 miles from the Visitor Center one-way. Work gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated; we’ll have light snacks ready to keep you energized.

This project is family-friendly – we'll have options for volunteers of all ages. Anyone younger than 18 will need to volunteer alongside a parent/guardian.

Spend your morning helping us prepare craft materials for our upcoming community events as part of Mass Audubon’s Statewide Volunteer Day. Tasks will include cutting, sorting, and light assembly of nature arts and crafts. All materials and instructions will be provided. This is an indoor activity in an accessible space.

Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated; we’ll have light snacks ready to keep you energized.

This project is family-friendly – we'll have options for volunteers of all ages. Anyone younger than 18 will need to volunteer alongside a parent/guardian

This volunteer opportunity will include one or more projects that are accessible and inclusive to volunteers with a broad range of abilities. Help care for the sanctuary and enjoy a few hours of fresh air, fun and fulfillment. Come once or every week and become part of our growing group of sanctuary volunteers. Together with Mass Audubon staff, put up signs and markers, look for wildlife tracks, pick up branches, and fill the bird feeders. Projects are primarily outside. Some tasks may require heavy lifting. Ability to work without supervision required. Carpentry skills welcome. Nature lovers appreciated.
